The National Open Art Competition 2010

This is the 14th year of the National Open Art Competition formerly the Chichester Open Art. Born of the Duke of Richmond as his vision for Chichester as “City of the Arts in 2012”, NOAC has become one of the leading open art competitions in the UK, and this year for the first time we will be including Art Photography as an accepted medium.  We have an acclaimed panel of judges chaired by Gavin Turk of Young British Artists notoriety; and supported by Catherine Lampert former director of the Whitechapel Gallery in London, Lisa Wright National Open Art Competition winner in 2009, and David Barrie whose alter ego is artist Piran Strange. They will be tasked through out the selection process in finding artists for the nine regional prizes, Best Drawing in the show, several Young Artist’s Prizes, and the New Art Photography Prize.

We will once again have a Visitor’s Choice Prize which is for the exhibition visitors to vote for their favourite piece, in 2009 we received over 6000 visitors to the show at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre .This year we will be showcasing the successful artist’s work from October 30th – November 12th 2010.  “I think it is among the leading open art competitions in the country.” Gavin Turk 2009.  For further details please visit our website www.thenationalopenartcompetition.com  The closing date for applications is 31 August 2010, visit www.thenationalopenartcompetition.com/how-to-enter.php for details of how to enter.
